Key Responsibilities
- Assign appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and treatments
- Review and analyze patient medical records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and industry standards
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding requirements
- Maintain accuracy and quality standards in medical coding processes
- Stay updated with latest coding changes, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and submit coded data for billing and reimbursement purposes
Requirements & Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in medical coding or healthcare documentation
- Certification in medical coding (CPC, CCS, or equivalent) preferred
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Proficiency in healthcare information systems and electronic health records
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and meet productivity targets
